SYMMETRY: Order, Harmony, Classic Elegance

  • Perfect if you love clarity, balance, and visual calm.
  • Works beautifully in both classic and contemporary interiors.
  •  Our brains instinctively feel comfort in mirrored compositions—like butterfly wings.

3 Rules for Perfect Symmetry:

1) Find your center.
A fireplace, large artwork, or architectural feature—build your axis around it.
2) Symmetry = Light!
Place lamps, floor lamps, and fixtures symmetrically for even, balanced lighting.
3)  Don’t obsess over millimetres.
What matters most is the feeling of order. Consider natural light, windows, and views.

ASYMMETRY: Character, Freedom, Drama

  • Ideal for those who dislike a "museum-like" look.
  • Lets you mix styles, eras, and textures effortlessly.
  • Feels lively, informal, and authentically homey

3 Tips for an Asymmetrical Interior:

1) Odd numbers are your best friend.
3 cushions, 5 books, 1 armchair—these create visual dynamism.
2) Play with color.
Even in a neutral space, one bold accent (like an orange armchair) can bring everything to life.
3) Balance ≠ symmetry.
A large painting on one side? Counterbalance it with a mirror + floor lamp on the other.

Which Should You Choose?

  • Symmetry—if you value order and timeless classics.
  •  Asymmetry—if you cherish individuality and creative freedom.
