How the Most Fashionable People Are Dressing Right Now: 9 Street Style Trends for 2026–2027

The most important fashion weeks of the season have just come to an end. In Milan, Paris and London, designers presented the collections that are already giving us a clear idea of how we will be dressing next spring and summer.

But fashion week is not only about what happens on the runway.

It is just as interesting to look at the people attending the shows: stylists, fashion editors, buyers, designers, models and influencers. Their outfits show us which trends are already moving beyond the runway and how they can be worn in everyday life.

We looked at the latest European street style and identified nine major trends that are especially visible right now.

1. Silhouette and proportions come first

One of the most noticeable changes in recent seasons is the shift away from focusing on one particular “must-have” item.

What matters more today is the overall silhouette.

That is why we are seeing so many long coats, relaxed blazers, oversized bomber jackets, wide-leg trousers, balloon trousers and midi and maxi skirts.

Even very simple clothes can look modern when the cut and proportions feel current.

A white shirt worn with wide-leg trousers and a long coat, for example, can look more contemporary than an outfit made up of several obvious trend pieces.

Updating your wardrobe therefore does not necessarily mean buying lots of new clothes. Sometimes changing the proportions is enough: choosing a looser blazer, fuller trousers or longer outerwear can completely change the look.

2. Femininity is making a comeback

After several years dominated by oversized shapes, sportswear influences and relaxed silhouettes, more feminine clothing is becoming increasingly visible again.
Pencil skirts, low-heeled shoes, lace, satin, long skirts, fitted jackets and feminine tops are all returning.
But they are being styled differently.
A pencil skirt can now be worn with a simple sweater, a romantic top with wide-leg trousers, or an elegant skirt with a basic T-shirt.
Femininity is returning, but the result feels more relaxed, modern and wearable.

3. Leather remains one of the key materials

Leather has been an important part of the wardrobe for several seasons, and it is no longer limited to the classic biker jacket.
European street style is full of leather bomber jackets, long coats, blazers, skirts and accessories.
These pieces often look best when combined with simple wardrobe basics.
For example:
a leather bomber jacket with wide tailored trousers;
a long leather coat with fine knitwear;
a leather jacket with jeans or a simple skirt.
When one item is already visually strong, the rest of the outfit can remain relatively understated.

4. Skirts are becoming more important again

For several years, trousers and jeans dominated everyday wardrobes. Now skirts are becoming much more visible again.
Midi and maxi lengths are particularly popular, along with pencil skirts, straight silhouettes, satin fabrics, sheer materials and textured finishes.
What makes them feel modern is not only the skirt itself, but the way it is styled.
A tailored skirt can be paired with simple knitwear.
A satin skirt can be worn with a T-shirt or sweater.
A long skirt can be combined with an oversized jacket or blazer.
This makes skirts feel less formal and much easier to wear every day.

5. Different styles are mixed in one outfit

One of the most useful ideas to take from current street style is that everything in an outfit does not need to belong to the same style.
Tailored trousers can be worn with a leather bomber jacket.
A romantic skirt can be paired with simple knitwear.
A structured blazer can be combined with relaxed jeans.
Elegant shoes can be worn with casual clothes.
These combinations make an outfit feel more individual and less predictable.
The key is to create some connection between the different pieces, whether through colour, proportions, fabrics or the overall mood of the look.

6. Prints can be mixed more freely

few years ago, styling advice often focused on being careful with prints.

Today, fashion feels much more open.

Checks can be mixed with stripes, one geometric pattern can be worn with another, and printed shoes can become part of an already expressive outfit.

Of course, simply combining several different prints does not automatically create a good look.

Successful print mixing usually has a connection: a shared colour, a similar scale or a repeated visual rhythm.

This is a good example of why understanding colour, composition and proportions is so important in professional styling.

7. Neutral colours are still important

Despite the return of prints and more decorative details, many modern outfits are still based on a calm colour palette.
White, cream, beige, brown, grey, black and khaki continue to play an important role.
However, a neutral outfit today does not have to look minimalist.
Interest can come from the combination of textures and shapes.
Wool, leather, suede, satin and fine knitwear can all be mixed within a similar colour palette.
The quieter the colours, the more important the cut and materials become.

8. Shoes can completely change an outfit

Pay attention to the footwear in modern street style.
Low heels, pointed toes, loafers, boots and unusual ballet flats are increasingly becoming an important part of the entire outfit.
The same pair of wide-leg trousers can look sporty with trainers and much more elegant with refined shoes.
A feminine dress can be balanced with heavier footwear.
A simple everyday look can be transformed with an unexpected pair of shoes.
Sometimes changing the shoes is enough to make a familiar outfit feel completely different.

Individual style matters more than a perfect outfit

This may be the most important direction in fashion right now.

An outfit no longer needs to look as though every piece was bought together.

In fact, looks often feel more interesting when they include personal details: a vintage bag, unusual shoes, a favourite blazer, an unexpected accessory or a surprising colour combination.

As a result, the focus is moving away from simply following trends and towards developing personal style.

Fashion becomes a set of tools that each person can use differently.

The question is therefore becoming less about:

“Which item is fashionable right now?”

and more about:

“How can I wear it in a way that works for me?”
